Matt is Business and Sales Director of HealthMAP, managing the business development and internal functions of HealthMAP. He is a shareholder and director of HealthMAP Limited and has been involved with the business since its inception in mid 2000.  Matt is also leading the development of Healix Limited, a joint venture between HealthMAP and RHE & Associates.

Prior to the formation of HealthMAP, Matt worked for four years as an independent contractor to various areas of the public sector, including health.  During this time he was involved in a range of projects including organisational change, process redesign, strategy development and post implementation reviews.  Before this Matt spent three years as Manager of the Enterprise Unit at the University of Sheffield.  He was involved in developing a national programme to address the need for increased public transparency and issues arising from competition for resources

Matt has successfully managed and delivered a range of significant, complex healthcare redesign, organisational change and reconfiguration projects.  He has strong general programme management skills as well as a track record of strategy development and implementation.  Matt is committed to excellence, has effective leadership abilities and enjoys change and complexity.  He builds long-term relationship with people and has very strong interpersonal skills.

Some of Matt's specific roles for HealthMAP include:

• Integration Manager and Programme Leader for the ADHB Change Programme process redesign and organisation change initiatives
• Business case delivery for the Patient and Clinical IS programme at ADHB
• Advisor and QA on the development of CDHB's IS Strategic Framework
• Member of the Investment team of the New Zealand National Health IT strategy (WAVE project) for the Ministry of Health

Matt holds a Master of Science degree in Organisational Psychology from the University of Sheffield, UK, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Industrial Psychology from the University of Waikato.  Matt was co-author of a book and several articles written on study techniques and university curriculum changes during his student years.  Matt is now a frequent speaker at health and IT conferences and guest lecturer at various universities and other learning institutions.
